La Plaineism, which is a retroactive name for the La Plaine, also known as The Marsh, is an ideology meant to portray the faction of independent delegates within the French National Convention. These delegates were also known as Maraisards. La Plaineism is generally moderate in most opinions, advocating for Big Tent Politics and Political Syncretism, while being pragmatic in terms of his praxis.
