Louisiana (fr. Louisiane), officially the Republic of Louisiana (fr. République de Louisiane) is a country located in North America and, for the most part, between the Misissipi and Trinity rivers.
Louisiana is a heavily decentralised state with the regions having a high degree of autonomy in political, economic and cultural matters. The legislative body of Louisiana is the National Assembly (fr. Assemblée nationale).
Louisiana is known for it's natural and cultural diversity, especially in the southern coastal regions, where a unique mix of Romance, American and African cultures arose over the centuries of it's history.
