Old Left may refer to:

  • Conservative Socialism - A type of socialism which believes in conservative teachings, which are considered old in modern times.
  • National Communism - Some contemporary national communists such as Gennady Zyuganov subscribe to the idea of the Old Left.
  • Utopian Socialism - The type of socialist prominent in the world before its usurping from that position by Karl Marx's idea of scientific socialism.
  • Classical Social Democracy - The more radical precursor to modern social democracy, also known as "the proletarian movement".

In the United Kingdom

  • Hard Left - The "Hard Left" faction of the Labour Party, which held radical views compared to the Soft Left and especially the New Labourites.
    • Corbynism - A section of the Hard Left endorsed by the Labour Party from 2015-2020 whilst Jeremy Corbyn was its leader.
