Regulationism also called Economic Interventionism is the belief that the state should intervene within an established economic system to further a certain cause. These interventions generally involve regulations as well as taxes, tax breaks, grants, loans, subsidies in general, zoning laws, and all sorts of other legislation. Regulationism is generally aligned with the economic left (especially the centre-left) but aspects of it may be tolerated on the economic right.
