Yoda8soup Thought is economically left, civically moderate, and socially progressive.[2]

The ideology is opposed to anti-LGBTQ+, free market capitalist, imperialist, and racist ideologies.

Beliefs

Overall, my views fit under the umbrella of Democratic Socialism & Eco-Socialism.

  • Environmental

I am a staunch Environmentalist, I advocate that a key part of solving the climate crisis is mitigating the greed of Capitalism. I believe that Nuclear Energy is a good short-term transition energy, to stop carbon emissions while better solutions can catch up. I also see legislation like the Green New Deal as a good first step. The way I see it; the climate crisis is an existential threat to humanity and the wider ecosystem that must be addressed with the utmost urgency.

  • Economic

I advocate for increased Workplace Democracy[3] and consider myself a Cooperativist. I also advocate Progressive Economics with generally Welfarist,[4] and Regulationist policies.

  • Sociocultural

I am a Social Progressive advocating for inclusive social policy. Pro-LGBT+, pro-choice, anti-racism, drug decriminalization,[5] etc. While I am socially progressive, I do believe in preserving culture and harmless traditions. Sociological analysis is a large part of how I form my positions, I mainly draw on Conflict Theory and Functionalism, but I also sometimes incorporate Symbolic Interactionism when applicable. I believe that by using Critical Theory we can understand power structures in society and work towards solutions.

  • Diplomatic

My international policy is Alter-Globalization; I oppose Imperialism. I also describe myself as a Left-Patriot. I believe in using left-wing policies to make my country one worth being proud of.

  • Civic

When it comes to civics, I generally advocate a mixture of Federal Republicanism, Participatory Democracy,[6] and Socialist Democracy.

  • Tactic

When it comes to achieving socialism, I agree with the Centrist or Kautskyist approach of Pragmatically combining elements of both Reformist and Revolutionary tactics.

  1. Economic and social.
  2. Engaging in social reform to increase inclusion and equality while preserving culture and harmless traditions.
  3. Primarily cooperatives but state-owned and limited private enterprises with board-level employee representation (BLER) via strong trade unions is also a great step. I am also not against self-employment or small family business.
  4. Red Vienna and Bevanism are good examples.
  5. The Portuguese "Drug Strategy" is a great example.
  6. Similar to what the US has on the state and local level with both state representatives/senators and ballot propositions/initiatives combining both direct and representative democracy.
  7. Disclaimer: I take inspiration from these figures. I do not 100% agree with some of them.
