The Fourth Republic emerged as a brief yet significant entity proclaimed by the Grupa Szturmowa to establish a sense of authority across the entirety of Polish territory. Its existence spanned from the onset of the 13-day civil war until the signing of the union documents between the Fourth Republic, the Social Nationalist Governorate of Kaliningrad, and the Lwów Peoples Republic. While technically lacking an official government, the Kultokrat and leaders affiliated with various factions of the Social Nationalist movement engaged in the conflict would convene in Warsaw as necessary.
The term "Fourth Republic" serves as an English translation for the country, as a fully accurate rendition of the word "Rzeczpospolita" proves elusive. "Republic" and "res publica" are the closest approximations, albeit with subtle differences compared to the Polish language. The designation "Czwarta Rzeczpospolita" unmistakably pertains to Poland. However, it is noteworthy that this entity, operating under this name, never achieved the formation of a functioning government or the implementation of any substantial reforms. Even before the conclusion of the Polish-Sorbian war, the Polish Social Nationalist Republic had already materialized through the signing of the union documents.
