Alaska, or the United States of Alaska, is a North American country that sees itself as the true successor state to the USA. Its first president was Joe Biden, exiled in the collapse, who dictated personally how much of the country would be set up. It claims the entire world and all factions in the country are united by a desire to conquer the entire planet as The United Continents of America. It refuses to join any international organizations, as that would imply other countries have a rightful claim to the Earth. It buys up land and businesses in foreign nations until it owns their entire economy and annexes them.
It is hyper-industrialized, with the capital of Anchorage now the global model of a futuristic city. Its market system has been called "Cocaine Capitalism", and it is extremely privatized with very little regulation. It is a two-party state, with 1 politician's clique vs the entrenched FDA (Food and Drug Administration). So far, there have been 2 cliques: The ruling Julian Clique and the defunct Biden Clique. Each group gets to rule a city in any way they see fit. This city then becomes the capital if they win the election, which happens every 12 years. The FDA rules Fairbanks and The Julian Clique rules Anchorage. The Biden Clique ruled Juneau in its time. The technology is extremely highly developed, with Anchorage being the most advanced city in the world.
History
After the collapse of the USA, a retired Joe Biden and his cabinet fled to Alaska. There, the Biden Clique was founded. As well, the FDA directors managed to ship the agency's entire staff and assets to Alaska. At first, the Biden Clique and the FDA worked together to pull Alaska out of the near-stone-age conditions of the post-collapse. But then, they began to disagree on how the state should be run. The FDA moved to Fairbanks, 630 miles from The Biden Clique in Juneau. To prevent a civil war, a widely respected Denali Park Ranger named Old Tom proposed a system in which these two groups operated as parties, with an election every 12 years. This was accepted.
After Biden died his clique collapsed. A young upstart named Julia B. grew a cult of personality from her home city of Anchorage and eventually formed the Julian Clique 6 years into the first FDA government. When the election came, she won, and the Julian Clique took over the nation.

The flag of Alaska is based on the previous American flag, with Julian pink replacing red. If the FDA wins, their flag would replace the red stripes with blue. The canton has the colors of the previous Alaska state flag.
