The Free City of Manchester is the autocratic state that emerged in 2084, when The Mayor awoke from a cryogenic sleep he had been in for just over 50 years. He then used his ancient political leverage to gain complete control of the city, defeat the remnants of the Liberal Democrats and the Labour Left, and establish his rule over greater manchester by threat of Manchester's nuclear capabilities.
