"I'll stop reading eventually." - Left Communism

This page is still in development due to ongoing reading by Someone, multiple things may change drastically.

We live in a contradiction, a brutal state of affairs, profoundly inegalitarian – where all existence is evaluated in terms of money alone – is presented to us as ideal. To justify their conservatism, the partisans of the established order cannot really call it ideal or wonderful. So instead, they have decided to say that all the rest is horrible. Sure, they say, we may not live in a condition of perfect Goodness. But we’re lucky that we don’t live in a condition of Evil. Our democracy is not perfect. But it’s better than the bloody dictatorships. Capitalism is unjust. But it’s not criminal like Stalinism. We let millions of Africans die of AIDS, but we don’t make racist nationalist declarations like Milosevic. We kill Iraqis with our airplanes, but we don’t cut their throats with machetes like they do in Rwanda, etc..

Alain Badiou

Introduction

Socialism is a movement of both economic and social liberation. Class is not merely based on poor vs rich but it is a manifestation of oppressor and oppressed. With the discrimination which comes without necessary social liberation, we result in a class based on this aforementioned discrimination. Even if we were all to be equal in every other way, this boundary would still divide us. We would not be able to add economic reform to side-line the social mishaps within the nation, that would not be socialist, it'd be merely "half liberatory" which isn't liberatory at all

I reject the idea of a "national proletariat" for it assumes that we are more similar to our oppressors than to our oppressed brothers across the world merely because of our nation. Class to me is the most important categoriser of humanity - you are either oppressor or oppressed, you are not British oppressed and Malaysian oppressed then British oppressor and Malaysian oppressor, you are simply part of the two aforementioned classes , no matter geographic location, language or tradition.

Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis

Note: I'm still in the process of learning about this stuff. If this is inaccurate as fuck, please tell me, I would like to know if its wrong.

Hegel believed in the frameworks of thesis, antithesis and synthesis. The current thesis is the current system i.e. capitalism and the antithesis is our anger and rightful greed. Whereas we are wanted to consider neoliberalism a synthesis to end the problems of capitalism, it should be considered as the new thesis which went against a different antithesis, that being lack of control. Now we must turn this antithesis to class consciousness - we must become a problem and communism must be the only accepted solution (the new synthesis).
