Fantasy PCBaller World/Northern Valendria/Notable People/Aldric Ryser

Aldric Ryser (born the 3rd of the 7th Moon 1038) is a notable figure within the Kingdom of Northern Valendria. Born to Lord Seban and Marya Ryser in their ancestral seat of Longbow Hall, House Ryser served as vassals to House Skjoldrake of Silverholme. From a young age, Aldric displayed exceptional aptitude in managing wealth and estates, paving the way for his subsequent rise within the realm.
At the age of 14, in 1052, Aldric earned a place in the prestigious Silverholme court, showcasing his abilities as the Seneschal under the service of Lord Mikal Skjoldrake. Demonstrating competence and reliability, Aldric effectively fulfilled his duties, overseeing administrative affairs and supporting Lord Mikal in his governance.
However, tragedy struck in 1065 when Lord Seban Ryser, Aldric's father, faced accusations of treason leveled by Lord Mikal. Seeking to address the claims, Lord Seban ventured to the castle walls but was fatally struck down by arrows before he could present his case. As a result, Aldric inherited the seat of Longbow Hall but was prohibited from returning to his keep to administer his lands. Instead, he was compelled to remain at court as a measure to ensure his loyalty, even depriving him of the opportunity to marry his long-betrothed, Anysa Vance.
Reluctantly serving as Seneschal from 1065 to 1070, Aldric stumbled upon a plot at court to rebel against the king, advocating for Lord Mikal's half-brother Jon to ascend the throne. Sensing the imminent danger, Aldric clandestinely rode out at night to his family keep, raising an army to confront the rebellion. Marching to the capital, he alerted King Erik, who swiftly rallied his bannermen and launched an offensive against Silverholme. The rebellion was swiftly quashed, leading to a trial where Lord Mikal was declared a traitor, sentenced to death, and his holdings were granted to Aldric as a reward for his unwavering loyalty in 1071.
Recognizing Aldric's acumen in managing finances, King Erik appointed him to the esteemed position of Steward of Northern Valendria, a role he continues to serve on the small council to this day, under the reign of King Iefan.
In his personal life, Aldric is married to his long-betrothed, Anysa Vance, and they share two sons, Coren and Evin. He is renowned for his shrewdness and prudent management of resources, bordering on being considered miserly. However, beneath his frugal exterior, Aldric possesses a compassionate side, demonstrating care and empathy when the situation warrants. Uncommon for a Valendrian, he holds a notable disdain for war, preferring diplomatic solutions whenever possible.
