With the economy down the drain, the situation was dire in China. It certainly did not help that in this crutial moment Chairman Xijinping was assassinated.
Being one of the first warlords that risen up, General Gao saw the opportunity. within days Shanghai was under military administration and the expasion begins. warlords in their way either joined General Gao or was decimated. A path was carved all the way to Sinkiang.
conquests
During the turmoil, the uyghurs in the autonomous region of Xinjiang incited a rebellion, which resulted in the province being split into two warlord states, the uyghur majority "republic of East Turkistan" and the Han majority "state of Xinjiang" led by Lieutenant General Liu.
Upon hearing about the situation in Sinkiang General Gao immediately sounded unconditional support to Lieutenant General Liu. With the warlords in between Shanghai and Sinkiang either fall or joining Gao's army the immenent doom of the uyghur insergency was spelled.
The bearly organized "army" of insurgents was crushed. As the chinese army rolls in the cities and towns chaos ensued. fights broke out on streets, and those who rose up don't stand a chance against the armored vehicles. The war was ended in a complete victory by Lieutenant General Liu, and shortly after the state of Xinjiang was annexed by the Empire of China as a part of the articles.

Whith the uyghur insergency put to rest, the campaign was decleared as a success, and General Gao returned to scilence.

When it was clear that the state of East Turkistan is living on borrowed time, most of the Government was guadually evacuated before the conquest by general Gao. The government in exile is currently hosted by Great Illinois.

Governer: Lieutenant General Liu
After the end of the xinkiang insurgency, Lieutenant General Liu's regiem was intergrated into the Empire of China, Liu was to keep his position as Lieutenant General and control over Xinkiang in return of loyalty towards General Gao.
After the conclution of the conflict, The majority of the Imperial Army returned to respective provinces, Leaving Xinkiang in the hands of Liu.
Although fully intending to erase the uyghurs as an ethnicity from the face of earth, General Gao has put the plan to a halt for the time being after the war, as the priority was to bring stability back to China, with the drastic changes in the decades before. For now there were only restrictions put on individuals identified to be of uyghur decent, monitoring their movements.
