- The problem with democracy is that assumes that almost anybody over 18/16/21 years old is politically knowledgeable enough and has the common sense to vote for the best candidate, but of course not everybody is politically informed enough to make that decision without potentially voting in a terrible president. (Example: Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler etc...) People are also very susceptible to propaganda and charismatic figures. Another flaw with Democracy is that it almost always favors the moderate candidate, so real change never happens, even if it is needed. My final reason for my disdain for Democracy is that Democracy is slow to react to crisis, for example, during the current Covid crisis, we are having mass protests and anti-vaccine and mask people changing laws that will inevitably lead to higher cases and deaths, an authoritarian government could crackdown on protests and make stricter mandates, saving lives. Democracy is easily the most overrated system of government.
Your logic against democracy is in itself extremely flawed. To start with, if the average person doesn't know which candidate to choose, what makes you think vesting absolute power to the average person will make it different? Adolf Hitler was not voted into power, the nazi party didn't even get close to winning the reichstag. Hitler got into power after being appointed into a position nobody believed he would have caused troubled to others, but underded up subverting power from inside.
As for Trump, American Electoral College is a fucking mess and many people argue Trump got into power because the country was not democratic enough. "Favoring moderate candidates" can be said about the history of politics in general, from the Roman Republic to the old monarchies, nobody wanted to support radical movements, and there's a reason behind that because they have tended to crash and burn, ergo, it's not a problem limited to democracies but in politics in general.
Your last point seems to be smart until you relealize this goes against the constitution, against civil liberties in general and essentially means a government could use the same excuse of covid to crack down on any enemies of the state for the pettiest of reasons. What do you understand by the concept of democracy? Equality, freedom or justice? These are just cheats. Why should we ask the opinion of ignorant people who do not care about an important issue for us? Let's let their vote determine your future, shall we? Equal suffrage for all is completely unfair. Those who have a certain level of intelligence at a certain age; should cast their votes according to the problem. I think all parties should be closed. It should be one party. Let the rulers of the state control the public according to the scoring system. Let everyone vote according to their own problem. Voting should be in the form of polls in digital environments.
And what makes you think you think you have the level of intelect necessary to solve an issue or know what's important or not? Who will decide who is smart or not, in fact? And letting everyone choose your future is wrong, but allowing a select elite few choose is alright? And if there's a single party how will anything be decided or even voted upon by polls?
