Overview

The 2039 Norwegian Coup or September Putsch was an attempted coup in the former Norway-Sweden, in which key inner party members attempted to seize power from Iefan Alstūd, who had been increasingly centralizing power within himself and the government since 2035. The key event that incited this was the KKIS being given more jurisdiction after ethnic tensions in Sweden between newly moved in Norwegians and Swedes.
The coup lasted 2 days, and resulted in a decisive win for the Alsūdist Loyalists, having also gained support in putting down anarchist cells in southern Sweden from the Zabójcy Zła and Svenska Specialdivisionen, from the PSNR and the SSR respectively

Background

Alstūd, increasingly growing discontented with the lack of control he had over Norway-Sweden, and the feeling that this could be the nation's downfall, slowly began to overreach his roles as ceremonial leader, backed by his immense popularity amongst the population. Following the ethnic tensions in Sweden between Newly moved in Norwegians and ethnic Swedes living in Sweden, he used this as a justification to give more authority to the KKIS. This, along with other moves to centralize power within Alstūd, convinced key party members that Alstūd needed to be removed to preserve anarchism in Norway-Sweden, and began plotting to overthrow him. }

September 2nd

On September 2nd 2039, at roughly 8:29 AM, they launched an attack on the capital building, chiefly led by Torfinn Østby, a respected government official. They were met by the KKIS, already aware of the plot, and took the men into custody, but unaware of the scale of the plan, were caught unaware when Østby radioed to cells all over the country to begin attacks on government institutions. Chaos quickly erupted all across the nation, as anarchists stormed their fellow countrymen, and militiamen had to fire on them. Alstūd, made aware of the situation, quickly called a internet and general communication shutdown, and called on the militias to organize and resist the attacks. At roughly 3:27 PM, Alstūd contacted the leaders of the PSNR and SSR to call on them for assistance in putting down uprisings in Southern Sweden, and in the following hours Zabójcy Zła and Svenska Specialdivisionen units entered to assist the militias. Alstūd used the situation to invoke emergency powers that placed himself as the head of the military, and had them reordered into a professional central army. The following day and a half was spent with Iefan Alstūd, Hubert Ziółkowski, and Bjorn Haldorsson coordinating attacks on anarchist cells and retaking cities briefly seized in the initial chaos. On September 4th, 2 days after the attack, Alstūd announced that the majority of the insurgents had been arrested or killed, and announced that to preserve the nation and sovereignty of Norway, that the Norwegian-Swedish Anarchist Commune will be reorganized into the National Norwegian People's Republic, bringing and end to the anarchist ideals of the country.

Effects

The effects of the coup were plentiful, and had many ramifications across the nation. For one, Alstūd cemented himself as the leader of Norway, and centralized vast amounts of power within himself. This also allowed him to form a republic and end anarchism in Norway-Sweden. Along with this, as the Norwegian-Swedish Anarchist Commune was no longer a legal entity, Norway was no longer bound by any treaties, and immediately began drawing up plans to provide "living space" for ethnic Norwegians in southern Sweden.
