Not to be confused with Agorism.

Agrarianism is a political ideology distinguished by a support of a farming-based society.

Economically agrarianism is generally ambiguous although most agrarians favor subsidization and land rights, culturally agrarianism is also ambiguous but tends to be right-wing as a rural lifestyle is more dependent on inheritance as compared to an urban one, and civically agrarians tend to oppose centralization, but otherwise is ambiguous.

There was no large-scale political movement in the history of Agrarianism. But with the gradual urbanization of people's lives, there are many people with more primitive ideas who want to return to the farmland. Of course, they do not really believe in Agrarianism. Unfortunately, there is not much land for free cultivation, especially in socialist countries like China. If you farm freely in China, you may be punished.

History

Foundations

Agrarianism believes that urban living is inferior to living in the countryside and thus wishes for more or even all people to live on rural estates.

Agrarian Liberalism

Liberal agrarianism is a variant of agrarianism that adheres to the principles of agrarianism, such as: subsidies to agriculture, and liberalism: public freedom, free press

Nordic Agrarianism

Nordic Agrarianism is a variant of Agrarianism specific to Nordic countries and is usually positionined in the center of the political spectrum.

The parties that follow this ideology are non-Socialist and typically combine a commitment to small businesses, rural issues and political decentralization, and, at times, Euroscepticism. The parties have divergent views on the free market and environmentalism.

Personality

Agrarian will usually be presented as a stereotypical rural farmer, meaning hating city-slickers, knowing everyone within its village and being rather defensive of its farming estate. He may or may not be portrayed as a stereotypical hick.

How to Draw

The symbol of Agrarianism is a golden stalk of wheat on a vertical bicolor background of green and brown.

Flag of Agrarianism
  1. Draw a ball
  2. Color the left half of the ball in green, and the right with brown, making it a bicolor
  3. Draw a golden stalk of wheat in the middle
  4. Add the eyes
  5. Optional props:
    1. Simple headwear, like a straw hat or cap
    2. Local produce, like a milk gallon or a buck of wheat
    3. Farming equipment, like a sickle or a shovel

You're finished!

  • Libertarianism - He doesn't want to tell me what to do with my estate, but he doesn't want to give me those deserved farm subsidies!
  • Georgism - Taxing land will make us all serfs again! Don't you know how many acres I have now!?
  • Reactionary Socialism - I like that you're pro-agrarianism and pro-peasant but you're a bit too reactionary.
  • Feudalism - We had some ups and downs here and there... just keep your promises and don't go too far on the tithe, or else I'll go get me pitchforks.
  • Environmentalism - Who doesn't like clean air and water? But, uh, can you step aside? I kinda need to clear that forest to expand my farmland...
  • Veganarchism - Good customer, but I don't get why he thinks I'm evil for "exploiting the animals".
  • Neoluddism - We both hate industrialization but don't bomb people. Also, I need modern farming equipment, synthetic fertilizers, etc.
  • Pol Potism - Woah woah woah hold it right there! I certainly didn't mean THAT when I said I hate urbanites!

  • Transhumanism - Fuck off city slicker, I won't join your dumb hive-mind thingy.

  • Primalism - Ahh what a beautiful beast! I'm gonna selectively breed you until you become too dependent to escape and becoming part of our cuisine and/or farming forces!
