Racism is the discrimination and prejudice based on race, ethnicity, or ancestry. Some modern definitions of Racism also state that the term includes the mere belief in distinct races, usually differentiated with the term "racialism".

Scientific Racism

Scientific Racism or Race Realism is a kind of racialism which is based on scientific research and biological factors. The advocates for this line of thought usually believe in polygenism, that different races have different racial origins, and (often times) conclude that this makes some races biologically superior. The Darwinian theory of evolution is also sometimes used as variable which affects racial differences; i.e. some races have evolved more than others and are therefore genetically superior.
