The Northern Confederation is a confederation of anarchist communes comprised primarily of Norwegian Americans. Its establishment occurred in the aftermath of the American Collapse in 2020, a period of societal upheaval marked by economic and political turmoil. Led by the charismatic revolutionary figure Iefan Alstūd, the confederation has carved its own path, guided by anarchist principles and a spirit of communal self-governance.

History and Formation Following the collapse of centralized authority and the disintegration of the United States, a grassroots movement emerged among the Norwegian American communities in the northern regions. This movement sought to establish a society based on principles of direct democracy, communal ownership, and voluntary cooperation. Recognizing the need for collective defense and coordination, the communes joined forces to form the Northern Confederation.

Leadership and Ideology Iefan Alstūd, revered as "The Ironchief of the North," emerged as a prominent leader during the chaotic post-collapse period. Known for his strategic acumen, unwavering resolve, and strong leadership, Alstūd successfully rallied the disparate communes under a unified vision. The Northern Confederation embraces anarchist ideals, advocating for a society free from hierarchical structures, where decisions are made collectively through local assemblies and consensus-based decision-making. Despite this, Alstūd rules as a Pseudo-King, a warlord who mostly roams the Plains with his men.

Military Forces and Strategy The military forces of the Northern Confederation predominantly rely on motorized and cavalry units, prioritizing mobility and speed in their operations. This strategic emphasis reflects the confederation's commitment to agile responses and decentralized defense. With an emphasis on self-sufficiency, the confederation places significant importance on training its members in various combat techniques, basic military tactics, and marksmanship.

Socioeconomic Structure The Northern Confederation embraces a model of communal ownership, emphasizing the collective stewardship of resources and the rejection of traditional forms of property ownership. Local communes operate autonomously, making decisions concerning production, distribution, and resource allocation through consensus-based decision-making processes. This model promotes equity, cooperation, and the pursuit of community well-being over individual gain.
