Toucanism is an economically center to center-right, culturally center and moderate in the Authoritarian to Libertarian scale ideology that represents the beliefs of the Brazilian Social Democratic Party and his supporters.
Beliefs
Toucanism supports a compromise between Right-Wing and Left-Wing economics, with the party having more bias to the former. they supports an wide descentralization in the Brazilian government, seeing the autonomy that the government gives to the states as not enough. the party often have moderate policies in the cultural issues, with at the same time his greatest member, the President Fernando Henrique Cardoso tried to legalize Gay marriage at the late 90's, one of the party's senator, Joao Campos, rallied against the 'Gay Kit;' thought they shifted to the Left over the time. they tend to support a more Western aligned foreign policy, seeing the East as an Anti-Democratic force in the world. the members also advocates for reforming Brazil into a Parliamentary republic. generally, the Party aligns with Center-Right to Center-Left interests.
Personality
Toucanism acts like an average Centrist politician in Brazil. currently he is pretty depressed seeing how polarized the politics have became in Brazil since the impeachment of Dilma and often imagines himself again in the late 1990's(the golden era for him). he also acts like a Toucan.
