Erac Keath (born on the 28th of the 3rd Moon, 1023) is a prominent figure within the Kingdom of Northern Valendria. As the firstborn son of Lord Dallin and Alora Keath, he spent his formative years at the esteemed seat of House Keath, Castle Keath, where he received a comprehensive warrior's education. Excelling in martial tactics and swordplay, Erac's skills were honed from an early age. At the age of 14, in 1037, Erac achieved a significant milestone by emerging victorious in the highly esteemed Grand Tournament at Harðheimr. His exceptional performance caught the attention of King Erik the Older, who recognized his potential and subsequently took Erac under his wing as a squire. Flourishing in the royal court, Erac swiftly gained prominence and acclaim, being regarded as one of the realm's finest duelists even by the age of 17, triumphing over opponents double his age. In 1044, Erac faced a crucial test of his military prowess during the Ironwoods Rebellion—a conflict arising from bandit factions congregating in the Ironwoods region and launching attacks on villages and towns. Erac demonstrated exceptional leadership, successfully leading the brunt of King Erik's forces without suffering a single defeat. His martial prowess and strategic acumen earned him the esteemed position of Hirdman to King Eric in 1046, which he fulfilled with distinction for several years. In 1051, Erac's skill and dedication were recognized once again when he was appointed as the Marshal of Northern Valendria, following the passing of Lord Kartis Tallman. This high-ranking position bestowed upon him the responsibility of overseeing the kingdom's military forces and strategic operations. Despite inheriting the Lordship of Saltshores after his father's passing in 1057, Erac chose to remain at the royal court in Harðheimr, where he continued to serve the king. During his tenure, he imparted his knowledge and trained numerous young lords, including the sons of the king himself, fostering a strong bond with his wards. In his personal life, Erac maintains a reserved demeanor, befitting the cultural expectations of men in his realm. However, to those he holds dear, such as King Iefan, he exudes warmth and loyalty. In 1046, he married Jaelyn Cressy, and together they have a son named Seban, who serves as Hirdman to the king.
