Leofric Ravenshadow (born 18th of the 5th Moon, 1031) is a notable figure in the Kingdom of Northern Valendria, renowned for his role as the Spymaster. Born into the esteemed Ravenshadow family, he is the second son of Lord Kerith and Isabella Ravenshadow, hailing from the southernmost Lordship of Wrisal within the kingdom.
Having spent his formative years in the royal court, Leofric was raised under the tutelage of his father, who served as Steward and held a seat on the small council under King Eric. Immersed in courtly intrigue and politics from an early age, Leofric received a comprehensive education, sharpening his skills in navigating the complexities of power.
Upon reaching the age of 18 in 1049, Leofric was appointed as cupbearer to the King, a position of close proximity and trust. He faithfully served in this role for 13 years, gaining insights into the inner workings of the royal court and acquiring valuable knowledge of the kingdom's affairs.
In 1062, tragedy struck when Lord Sentel, the former Spymaster, passed away rather surprisingly, creating a vacancy in this vital position. Leofric was chosen to assume the mantle of Spymaster, a position that he embraced with great dedication and skill. With the passing of King Erik, Leofric continues to serve as the Spymaster under the reign of King Iefan, who chose to retain many members of the previous council. Despite his reserved and introverted nature, Leofric's keen intellect and astute observations have contributed to his success in the realm of espionage and information gathering.
While he maintains a somewhat distant relationship with his family, save for his mother, Leofric's brother reportedly maintains constant communication, even after assuming the Lordship of Wrisal following their father's passing in 1065.
