I absolutely agree on environmentalism (you should check out Technogaianism) but for the most part I think the idea of modern machines are the issue as a whole, and replacing them only makes an additional issue after modernity. If you have the chance, I suggest the audiobook "reading" of Insurrectionary Foucault by Machine Liberation Front.
