i'd implore you to look at what Israel is doing and what it done for the past 8 decades, so you can see that whatever help they may have provided to Brazil is small compared to the reasons NOT to support them. since 1948 Israel has pursued a policy centred around ethnic cleansing, apartheid and systematic brutalisation of the Palestinian people, to achieve what is basically Lebensraum in the Levant. the very existence of Israel has, since the beginning, required the destruction of Palestinian society (Nakba) and the continued persecution of the Palestinian people. even if you support Zionism, as of lately the state of Israel has committed many gross violations of international law. these are abhorrent not because they are illegal, but because they are cruel and cold: civilians, diplomats, journalists, emergency aid workers, even Israeli hostages have all been butchered at the hands of the Israeli military. Israel is not a bastion of Western civilisation or liberal ideals in the Middle East, it is a state which since its conception has enforced its fascistic violence without any regard for the lives of innocents. Israel's legitimacy lies solely in its ability to get away with everything from the use of chemical weapons to outright genocide and still have the support of Western governments (though, admittedly, during the past couple of months they have been so brutal that even world leaders in those countries are starting to hesitate). i understand why you would want to help them back, but it's not worth it. look at the United States: its support of Israel has created guilt by association, attracting terrorism which destroyed the lives of thousands of Americans. one of al-Qaeda's key motivations for the September 11 attacks was the US government's support of Israel (military, financial and diplomatic). Israel continues to brutalise the Palestinian people, who are evidently radicalised (you would be too, if you were expelled from your own home by foreign settlers and had your friends murdered by the occupying army) and when those who are radicalised realise that Israel's brutality is made possible by aid from Western nations, then they will logically consider them complicit and thus also guilty. Israel uses the terrorism they have created — by cultivating conditions that make armed resistance a moral imperative, but often by directly encouraging terrorist violence. Hamas was originally a religious charity group, and Israeli authorities pushed it to grow into a terrorist organisation (this is true, you can look it up, religious affairs official Avner Cohen even said it). not to mention how often Israel picks wars with its Arab neighbours, which American troops inevitably have to fight and die for, in defence of their 'greatest ally' which has done nothing for them except suck up 3 billion dollars every year from ordinary American taxpayers. Israel does not want peace, otherwise they would not be bombing civilians indiscriminately and committing massacres. i would plead you to see through what you may have been told, and if you value humanity and morals, to realise that supporting Israel is not good. it means tolerating the evils committed by a ruthless regime, and defending harm which not only violates rights of Palestinians but — if Brazil supports Israel — acts against the well-being of your own country and its people, as well as its diplomatic legitimacy and moral integrity (Israel's actions also harms Jews as well, though obviously much less than it harms Palestinians) of course, this is only my opinion. nevertheless, i ask that you consider what i have said here
