I imagine capitalism as a room with a high ceiling and on that ceiling is a ladder. To the right, there is a ladder store. People with merely natural talents have been able to get that ladder and now can distribute it among their friends but everyone else will try as hard as they can and still never reach heights unless someone from that upper class sees them as useful. I imagine socialism as a room but with a lower ceiling. Sure, it's a bit lower, but everybody with a bit of effort can reach it and the floor is a nice plush mattress meaning even if you fail, you can easily get back up.
