Edelism is the ideology of edelex. It's socially progressive, and economically distributist.

Government

Edelism believes in a governmental system which is largely decentralised and federalist. It believes that people thrive in the community they want most, and so local communities having autonomy helps this. While it supports semi-direct democracy in many ways, it believes some fundamental rights cannot be compromised: freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom from slavery. It is not committed to its politics inherently, but rather believes they are the best way to achieve liberal values in society, which it thinks will lead to happiness. One fundamental goal of the government is to mitigate the freedom to oppress, another is welfare, and the final purpose is basic economic regulation, through antitrust and supporting small businesses. If the people wish, it can also be used to do things like build local playgrounds, farms, and other things that help the community, although this would ideally be in the form of the local government investing in mutual organisations or some other businesses that serve this purpose.

Philosophical and Psychoanalytic Foundations

1. Humans always want to be a part of something.
2. People are more responsible for what they're close to.
3. When people are not close to much, such as in cities, they turn to the community they share the most with.
4. People thrive best in the community they want most.
5. In local communities, the desire to create that will fill part of that need from premise 1.
6. The personal unconscious is a personalised manifestation of the collective unconscious, as the experiences you have had are inflicted by archetypes.
7. The collective unconscious is a unifying force (you can see it across cultures for example)
8. Elements of the collective unconscious, such as the details and frequency of archetypes, depend on social structures.
9. Conflict within groups often comes from different echo-chambers and communities, leading to difference in their collective unconsciouses.
10. A similar environment will lead to common ground among different groups in a community as they have the same collective unconscious, leading to greater unity.
11. Multiculturalism leads to a process I call 'cultural optimisation', in which people take the best parts of each cultures to create their own personal best culture.
12. Without this, people are more restricted.
13. This process should be accelerated.
Conclusion: Small multicultural communities and governance are the best form of government.

Economics

Edelist economics are largely influenced by distributism, believing in widespread property ownership, through small groups and individuals on a lower level, and cooperatives on a higher level. It is distinguished from mutualist economics in that it does not subscribe to the labour theory of value, and does not like labour vouchers. It supports mutual/cooperative banking, and the socialisation of credit and natural resources. Contrary to normal distributist beliefs, it supports nationalisation of healthcare, and essential natural monopolies, like water and broadband. For nationalisation, it supports somewhere between a technocratic and cooperative approach, arguing for bargaining between experts, workers, and the public through representatives to run these industries.

Foreign Policy

Edelism supports a hawkish foreign policy, supporting the 1999 NATO intervention in Yugoslavia, the 2011 intervention in Libya, the war on terror in Somalia, and more skeptically, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It believes in increasing international accountability and enforcement of UN Security Council Resolutions through force. When it comes to Israel, it believes that the region should be international territory, with semi-autonomous regions for Israel and Palestine, to mitigate apartheid and terrorism respectively.

Social issues

Edelism is mostly socially progressive, supporting the right to an abortion, critical race theory, gay marriage, multiculturalism, feminism and so on. It only disagrees with the left on one major social issue, that being trans issues, as it identifies as transmedicalist. It believes that gender dysphoria is a serious condition that is treated through medical transition. These people are entitled to gender-affirming care, and grouping them in with people who simply fit into certain social stereotypes will delegitimise them. Unless you wish to pay privately, to receive gender-affirming care you must get a gender dysphoria diagnosis and the approval of several experts. This is criticised as gatekeeping, but edelism believes it is only gatekeeping in the way that gatekeeping amputations for people who medically need them is.
