The American Devastation was a catastrophic event that happened during the 2020s. It began when economic/social consequences caused by the disastrous Harris presidency caused mass revolts all around the United States of America, resulting in the collapse of the government, infrastructure and economy, the creation of many anarchic zones throughout the former USA, and the destabilization of the original NATO bloc.
History
The Harris Presidency
After Joseph Biden's 1st term ended, he retired from politics. The subsequent election saw Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, beat Republican nominee Ron DeSantis by a very thin margin, with both the House and Senate Democrat-led. Harris's open border policy, lack of economic expertise and the appointment of, to be frank, absolute clowns to her cabinet set the stage for another Depression-style collapse which happened early in 2026 and the wholesale collapse of the economy soon after. This economic collapse set the conditions for many countries in the NATO bloc, such as Germany, to have their own little collapses. This devastation was further compounded by Russia and China's more aggressive geopolitical stance, although Russia was the most aggressive. All of this combined led to mass riots throughout the country, inevitably leading to a fully-fledged revolt. For the first time in years, Americans were beginning to go hungry.
The Collapse
The American Collapse wasn't the result of a single movement; it was the American people taking up arms against their government. However, this wasn't a "civil war" as much as a complete revolt. These revolts could have been contained or quelled if the USA were any other country. Still, since Americans are some of the most heavily-armed people on the planet, the US government had a ton of trouble fighting them off, especially when guerilla tactics began to be used. There was no objective in sight other than to rid the country of the current leadership, but, inevitably, this overstrained the system, and the USA collapsed into a smattering of smaller states and anarchies. In the aftermath, tens of millions of people died from the effects of the collapsed infrastructure, and for a while, it was basically Social Darwinism in the American territories. The American leadership, including President Harris, met their ends at the hands of angry mobs.
New States
As the chaos cooled down and Russia and China killed themselves, new states began to form, utilizing anything from communism to unregulated capitalism to vanguard anarchism. However, a few "remnants" of the American government and its economy survived the collapse and formed the direct successors to the USA itself; the Liberal Federation of America, the New American Republic, Greater Illinois, and the Alaskan state. These four states are arguably the most powerful in the American theater, especially the LFA and Greater Illinois. Eventually, the states and statelets thrived, died and, well, existed their way into becoming the modern PCBaller World.
