The Simpson Islands incident is an oddity in international law and former international diplomatic dispute inquiring about the status of the Simpson Islands and Big Island within the Great Slave Lake on the North American continent. The question arose upon noticing an old treaty- and mapping error involving the islands located in the Great Slave Lake, technically leaving them unclaimed by any country on earth.
Attempts at claiming the islands
- 1 May - Immediately as this fact was made known to the international community both
Norway-Sweden and 
Puerto Rico have made joking diplomatic inquiries claiming the Islands, neither have however pursed actually doing so due to its logistical impossibility. - 2 May - A day after the status of the islands was made known to the international community,
Poland dispatched a ZZ-Agent on a mission to Simpson Island with the hopes of claiming it for the future construction of a Polish nuclear bunker. This was a joking mission, trying to entertain the Polish public and giving the generally unfit ZZ-Agent something to do, actual plans for claiming and constructing on the Island were seen as futile by the Polish government and were thus not actually point of the mission. Upon arriving on the Island, the ZZ-Agent was injured by slipping on the ice and thus unable to plant the flag, this event was televised to the Polish public. The ZZ-Agent was sent back to Poland without having accomplished the mission and the joking claim remains unpressed.
Status
The islands remain unclaimed, these territories thus constitute the one of the only official cases of terre nullius on earth.
The 
AltUN passed a resolution concerning the status of the islands on the 29th May 2039, this resolution officially ended the dispute and opted to conserve the terre nullius-status of the islands under official AltUN protection from any claims to the islands.
