This movement has mostly won in the west. Libfems should stop complaining about not enough female drones and should try to focus on fighting reactionaries such as Jihadism.
why did this have to devolve?
The first wave and some of the 2nd wave were based, but third wave and onward was cringe
reject individualist feminism, embrace collectivist feminism
Marxist feminism > libtard feminism
Gonna be honest here. IMO pretty mixed bag. I have a very complicated relationship with the ideology and the people who are apart of it. Perhaps I am biased and I most certainly am. But I feel that the only way to have TRUE gender equality is to have a gender neutral movement that sees how gender roles oppress us all (it also ends up underrepresenting other people not apart of the gender binary such as NB people and intersex peoples). The thing is, even if many feminists even radical progressives may say they are not, this is in many ways focused purely or at least largely on womens issues, which while good as it represents a mainly underrepresented group in many ways, to say it "fights for gender equality" when it is literally named "FEMinism" as well as historically and still largely now mostly focuses on women's issues and has feuded with the mens liberation movement and other anti-sexist MRA groups to me says something. Oh and also many feminist movements both then and now have a lot of traditionalist, pro-censorship (such as with violent video games and rap music in the past and with twitter hating on anime in the present) and anti-sex or even borderline femcel stances even those that claim they fight for gender equality (Don't worry, this isn't a purely feminist issue either, both sex rights movements IMO have many aspects that to me seem dearly messed up, such as some of the few MRA's that are still around having become far more radicalized and many even being openly aligned with the manosphere).
Also patriarchy to me is an issue due to how it is largely a few men who control most of the power in the world (with some token gestures of equality more recently) but they seem to think that men are inherently more privileged than women rather than both sexes having their own forms of unique oppression and it largely only sees the best men can be is to be an "ally" and to essentially give women the spotlight as if men don't have their own issues they face for their sex.
Oh also twitter feminists and "leftists" suck as well. Basically they are the worst of radfem and libfem combined into one.
- All of the first and second waves were based, third wave was bringe, and anything from that point forward is cringe.
They both fought for based things but the more you actually learn about those two waves you would notice they were fairly screwed up in their own ways, (not even going to get into how the start of the movement was at best liberal and was not at all particularly what we would consider "progressive" nowadays) many were openly hard-core traditionalists, anti-sex, anti-alcoholism, homophobic, racist, or even at times were also fairly misandrist as well (though IMO at least back then it was FAR more understandable and at times even justified although it was still sexist). My point is that we tend to see modern progressive movements as "the right side of history" ignoring that there never really is, and both sides are deeply flawed and whose flaws will continue to lead to their eventual destruction leading to a swing to an opposite political movement until the political pendulum stops and the political landscape becomes less extreme (though also greatly flawed as well which will lead precedence for future conflicts).
Shame first world feminism is in the state it is in today
I support many feminist causes, but I don't like the current state feminism is in today. Both 1st and 2nd wave feminism were fully based, 3rd wave of meh and onwards is cringe.
