Why is internationalism good while globalism bad/dogwhistle? I thought both are the same thing
- The way I understand it Internationalism means international cooperation though diplomacy and alliances while Globalism goes a bit further by establishing global institutions for decisionmaking, such as the United Nations&co. However Globalism often gets used as a term for Jews by antisemites.
- Thats a half truth, please take note that what you are hearing is from someone who considers himself a globalist so you should not take his points uncritically. Let's just say as much as Pantheon may deny it many leftists notoriously are opposed to globalization especially due to its impact on and exploitation of the third-world and indigenous communities and many western liberals (despite how often that term is just used by tankies) or vague progressives don't tend to understand that and that anyone who questions the western-centric view of modern globalization must be lumped in with far-right conspiracy theorists who want to find excuses to justify their fear of people different from them no matter how minor.
Alt Imperialism Sucks
I love internationalism, brotherhood and solidarity and I openly admit all people of the world are my brothers no matter their background or makeup, and those who oppose that to me are what will hold the world back into needless fighting between people who basically want the same thing. but as much as some may not want to admit it, what we understand in the western world as modern globalization distorts that noble view for the self-serving capitalist class. They don't want genuine internationalism, helping communities via co-operation or mutual aid, they want bourgeoisie nationalism, so powerful it supersedes any cultural, lingual or historic ties to ones homelands, family and community. True internationalism is instead embracing such differences instead of trying to "get rid of backwards traditions and tribalism" and other crypto-colonial apologia.
