National Bolshevism, abbreviated as Nazbol, is an economically far-left, authoritarian, culturally far-right and ultra-nationalist ideology (can be cultural or ethnic nationalism depending on context) who advocates for a Bolshevik-inspired system of governance, which includes a socialist economy and a strong centralised state, in combination with extreme nationalism and support for traditional values, borrowing some elements and aesthetics from fascism.
He is often seen as a unifying syncretic ideology between far-left and far-right currents of political thought due to his unique combination of economic and cultural views. While Nazbol has achieved notoriety in internet circles due to the "Nazbol Gang" meme, National Bolshevism exists as a genuine ideology in Russian politics, combining state socialism with Russian ultra-nationalism.
There are two distinct variants of Nazbol: one is more in the vein of Marxism–Leninism, except with the addition of nationalist and culturally right-wing beliefs, while one is more like an economically far-left version of National Socialism (much in the vein of Strasserism); these are sometimes referred to as "Left Nazbol" and "Right Nazbol" respectively, with Left being closer to the ideology present in Russian politics and Right being closer to the exaggerated meme version that combines Bolshevism with Nazism. "Left" Nazbols see themselves as socially conservative and nationalist Marxists who want to achieve full communism (stateless, classless, moneyless society) believing that hypernationalism is the key to achieving this while "Right" Nazbols see state socialism as the final goal.
Personality and Behavior
In the comics, Nazbol is most often depicted as closer to the meme version of the ideology as opposed to any real-life counterparts. He can be depicted with a range of stereotypes surrounding political extremists (himself being a combination of two of them) but is usually seen as erratic, insane and occasionally prone to violence, especially in response to perceived threats from subversive globalists and capitalist pigs. Nazbol is currently the leader of the largest gang on the planet, and in some comics, he is only capable of communicating by "GANG GANG GANG GANG", both of these being references to the Nazbol Gang memes. Additionally, he can also be sometimes seen having an unhealthy obsession with Joseph Stalin. He’s also portrayed as racist
History
The actual ideology was originally started by the National-Communist Hamburg branch of the KPD. The two main proprietors of it were Heinrich Laufenberg and Fritz Wolffheim, who basically wanted Marxism-Leninism, combined with nationalism and syndicalism. They started their own newspaper, releasing several articles explaining how Marxism and Nationalism were compatible. This was the first real example of National Bolshevism. The term was made up by a Jewish Marxist-Leninist by the name of Karl Radek, who is sometimes (wrongly) labeled as a National Bolshevik himself.
The next phase of National Bolshevism took place in, yet again, Germany. It was pioneered by two brilliant minds, the National Communist Karl Otto Paetel and the Conservative Revolutionary Ernst Niekisch. Paetel wrote the well known National Bolshevist Manifesto, as well as founding the first real National-Bolshevik origination, which were called the National-Revolutionary Socialists. Niekisch was a prolific writer, and wrote many articles about the flaws of the Hitler system, and how the Bolshevik economy was very Prussian.
The third phase takes place in the glorious motherland, Russia. Pioneered by Nikolai Ustrialov, it essentially dropped all ties to Marxism, and saw the Bolshevik system as being the best possible choice for a true Nationalist. This idea was widely accepted in Nationalist circles at the time, and he became something of a celebrity. Ustrialov, who originally fought for the Whites in the Russian civil war, was eventually killed in a gulag for propaganda agains the state.
Finally, in the most modern form, National Bolshevism has become the meme you see now, a mix between National Socialism and Communism. While their are some real life examples now, they are mostly either fake (like Liminov and the NBP, which is basically watered down Social Democracy) or extremely small. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, this ideology is mostly dead now.

Friends
- Marxism–Leninism - My beloved father and greatest ideological inspiration, I just miss his more patriotic and conservative days. Shame he got rid of the gulags...
- National Socialism - Not enough actual socialism, and he's even more race-obsessed than I am, but we still work together very often. Nice job with the camps.
- Strasserism - Economically based, unlike his brother. Hunting down globalist capitalists together is one of our favourites pastimes.
- Conservative Socialism - Good friend and my more moderate counterpart. Sometimes he thinks I'm insane, but he's still a loyal member of my GANG.
- Stalinism - Favorite cousin and the closest thing to me in real life. GANG GANG.
- Fascism - Your cultural views and commitment to nationalism will always be worthy of respect in my eyes. Please shift left more economically though.
- National-Anarchism - He's basically me as an anarchist!? Based!
- Eco-Fascism - We've been getting along well lately as his views on environmental protection need economic collectivism.
- Falangism - Spanish associate and high-ranking GANG member. Shouldn't have shot Stalinists in the Spanish Civil War though but we can ignore that today.
- Ba'athism - Hasta la vista sionista!
Frenemies
- National Communism - We're almost an ideological match, given that he's basically our father MLball as practiced in the 20th century, so he just needs a little more cultural rightism. I don't like how he pretends to hate me though.
- Jewish-Nazism - He also is hated by both his parents! Also he hates jews as much as i do! But he still is one, so that kinda sucks.
- Monarcho-Socialism - We're not friends, but I respect his love for strongman leaders and socialism. I've always found his ways intriguing and besides that we're the only 2 that show up to the Mladorossi fan meetings.
- National Capitalism - Based nationalist, but all our conversations seem to be arguments over economics.
- Left-Wing Nationalism - Helps me fight globalist capitalist pigs, but I'm not letting him join the GANG until he drops the cringe progressivism.
- Paternal Conservatism - Good candidiate for Nazbol radicalisation.
- Democratic Socialism - You could have been helping me infiltrate liberal democracies but you're too busy spending time with degenerates. How pitiful.
- Reactionary Socialism - Traditionalism is based but you take things waaaaaaay too far, even for me.
Enemies
- Neoliberalism - Judeocapitalist and the one he blames for all the ills of the world, by combining the worst aspects or progressivism and capitalism.
- Pink Capitalism - comment removed by moderator
- State Liberalism - Literally the worst political ideology imaginable. I'd even rather work with Zionism than with you.
- Neoconservatism - Neoliberal economics? Wars for Israel? Cringe with a capital "C". The only good thing about you is your conservative social views. Just stop invading other countries.
- Korwinism - Based social views, cringe economics. But comparing me to the friggin' EU? Not cool, man.
