Autonomism also known as Autonomous Marxism is an Anti-Authoritarian form of Marxism. It wants the working class to force changes without the state, trade unions, or political parties.
History
Autonomism is an ideology which traces its roots back to Italy in the 1960's. Deriving from the ideas of workerism (operaismo), but modified to include greater Anarchist elements following the failure of a number of left-wing movements in Italy in the 1970's. Autonomism would begin to spread from its primary base in Italy into France and Germany, and eventually English-speaking nations.
