Paternalistic Conservatism shortened to PatCon, alternatively Conservative Social Democracy shortened to ConSocDem, is an economically centre to centre-left, culturally centre-right to right wing, and civically moderate ideology.

There is particular emphasis on the paternalistic obligation of those who are privileged and wealthy to the poorer parts of society. Consistent with principles such as duty, hierarchy and organicism. Paternalistic Conservatism support neither the individual nor the state in principle, but are instead prepared to support either or recommend a balance between the two depending on what is most practical.

In the United Kingdom

Paternalistic Conservatism originally stems from the United Kingdom in the 1840's from the works of Benjamin Disraeli and from the wider Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination One-Nation Conservative movement, although who did not gain significant power until the 1870's. Disraeli's terms in office can be said to be the Britain's first real shift away from laissez-faire economics and it's modern welfare system.

Ironically he calls his twin brother socdem a boomer because of how boomers created the hippies.
