Pērkonkrusts or Thunder Cross is a culturally far right, economically Corporatist, Ultranationalist, Neo-Pagan, Anti-German and Anti-Semitic ideology that inhabits the Authoritarian Unity sector of the Political Compass, based off of the political parties of Gustavs Celmiņš, Adolfs Greble, Jānis Rība & Igors Šiškins.
History
Gustavs Celmiņš was born on April 1th 1899 aka April Fool's Day in Riga, Latvia, Russia while there is not much information about his family or childhood but he was educated at the Riga Stock Exchange Commercial School then he was graduated in Moscow, Central and in 1917, studied at the Riga Polytechnic Institute in which it was evacuated to Moscow after the October Revolution during the Russian Revolution of 1917.
In 1918, Gustavs Celminš joined the "Latvian National Armed Forces" in the "Kalpaks Battalion" lead by Oskars Kalpaks during the Latvian War of Independence (1918-1920) while in May 22th 1919, he was promoted to lieutenant but in 1921, he was rewarded with a medal called the Order Of The War Of Lāčplēsis and in 1924 he left the armed forces.
In 1925, Gustavs Celminš just became Minister of Foreign Affairs while in 1929, he graduated from the University Of Latvia located in Riga because of his experience with Philology mixed with Philosophy along with being a rapporteur of the Ministry Of Finance and in 1930, he held the position of vice-director of the "State Department Of Agriculture".
On January 24, 1932, Gustavs Celminš has joined the "Ugunskrusts/Latvian People's Association" in which become elected chief while he got kicked out because of the group's political policies so in 1933, he founded the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" advocating a National Revolution for a radical reorganisation of society, politics and even the economy for example by rejecting Lutheran Christianity for a different religion called Dievturība Paganism but the organization received material support from a number of entrepreneurs including from sweets producers by Wilhelm Kuze along with Geoginger and in July 1933, there was a search at the summer headquarters located in Majority, Seafood at the ladder apartment.
In August 1st 1933, Gotfrīds Mīlbergs who is the Minister of the Interior proposed to close the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" lead by Gustavs Celminš while in August 15th 1933, a possible pre-organization of the organization was registered for its closure of another Latvian Fascist group called "New Latvia" but then in December 15th 1933, at the vote on the "Latvian Social Democratic Workers Party" (LSDSP) made a draft decision submitted with a imprinting vote decided to propose the closure of the organization as a hostile organization and in December 19th 1933, the "Administrative Division of the Riga Regional Court" suspended the operation of the organization along with "Towry Guard" until the substance of the case.
In September 17th 1933, the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" expressed radically Chauvinist views with Anti-Semitism against Russians along with Germans while the organization was popular among them Authoritarian ideas but then Gustavs Celminš made software speech later republished in the a handbook called "What do you want, how does the Thunderstorm work?" stated that it aimed to deprive political rights minorities and requested in 1922 Constitutional cancellation.
In December 22nd 1933, Alfred Zebauer who was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper is arrested to be confiscated the circulation of the printed newspaper while the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" have been influenced by academic edition Universitas along with student corporations for example decided that all "Selonian" members should enter the organization but then it won four seats in the Student Council elections as it consisted of officers on the service, guard average commanding composition, doctors and other members of the intellectual community and in special camps held the initial military training of its members even it was not armed as it was closely associated with the "Sports and Morally-Physical Education Society" aka "Father's Guard" with the establishment of both organizations was sometimes at the same time.
The "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" actively imposed traditional gender roles while supporting for economic Protectionism with the tendency to carcatch along with Militarism, firm immigrants control, discriminatory language laws, quotas that control admission university and professional activities and then taking into account ethnic identity even in turn Internationalism with any Pluralism expression would strongly reject.
The "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" kept in touch with the related "Vaps Movement" lead by Andres Larka & Artur Sirk along with the "Iron Guard" lead by Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, the "Ustaša – Croatian Revolutionary Movement" lead by Ante Pavelić, Italian Fascists and Hungarists while the it published a weekly newspaper "Thunderstorm" whose circulation after a publisher named J. in the words of the Dumpe posted 8,000 copies before it was edited by Gustav Celmins, Leonid Breikšs and Alfred Zebauer but also the activities from the organization expanded in Riga, Tensled in the rain, Valmiera, Rezekne, Jelgava and Latgale as a county and the news provided by the track that the number of Thunder members reached from 12,000 to 15,000 even the "Sicherheitsdienst" (SD) lead by Reinhard Heydrich assessed the number of members from 5,000 to 6,000 as other sources indicate that the number of organization did not exceed about 6,000 people.
In January 30th 1934, the final decision to close the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" was taken by the Riga Regional Court as 35 representatives of the organization's management were arrested while searches were made in 300 member while at the same time the "Sports and Morally-Physical Education Society" aka "Father's Guard" was closed but in February 12th 1934, its newspaper began to come out as "Taurus" and in March 20th 1934 the student corporation "Saeima" instructed the government to dismiss the service state, municipal and police staff within a month as well as to exclude from protected persons consisting of or drawn up in other two groups even in March 20th 1934, the Society for the Promotion of Culture and Sport was registered "Homeland" which served as a naval organization.
In May 15th 1934, Gustavs Celminš was arrested to be imprisoned for three years along with 97 Pērkonkrusts members after the 1934 Latvian coup d'état that turned Latvia into a Conservative dictatorship set up by Kārlis Ulmanis who is a member of the "Latvian Farmers Union" (LZS) while it was portrayed as part of a Jewish-Masonic conspiracy but also they pointed out that Ulmanis was not sufficient Nationalist that continued Nepotist corruption even the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" stated that the Germans were simply the most radical expression of the anger that could finally be legally manifested Democratically independent in the Latvian country and in 1936, Ernests Plāķis took over the leadership of the organization trying to reunite all of its members.
In May 14th 1937, Ernests Plāķis was arrested along with 31 other members then he was sentenced since June 1938 while in November 13th 1937, Gustavs Celminš was kicked out of Latvia so he seeks refuge in Italy, Poland, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Germany and Estonia but later in Switzerland at Zurich and he was arrested to be kicked out of this country because of unwanted presentations then stayed in Romania even he have something to do with the "National Renaissance Front" (FRN) lead by Armand Călinescu.
In 1938, Gustavs Celminš moved to Finland to set up a foreign liaison office of the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" while the original was led by Adolf Schilde with a total of 800 members that have been arrested in Latvia but then during the Winter War (1939-1940), he joined the "Finnish Foreign Legion" to fight against the Soviet Union until August 1940, he goes at Helsinki, Uusimaa to leave for Nazi Germany on the SMS Strassburg ship even he hates German people and during the Soviet Occupation of the Baltic States (1940), the "Workers and Peasants Red Army" freed the Communists as the "Pērkonkrusts" were arrested again instead even some of them are being deported to Siberian gulags.
In June 1941, Nazi Germany carried out Operation Barbarossa to occupied so Gustavs Celminš can moved back there to regained leadership of the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" in the service of the "Wehrmacht" lead by Werner von Blomberg while it has been restored with 15,000 members even many of them held positions in institutions set up by the German occupation such as the "Latvian Auxiliary Police" lead by Roberts Blūzmanis, the "Schutzstaffel" (SS) and the "SS Security Service" lead by Reinhard Heydrich and then Celminš led the Latvian press that is allowed by the occupying authorities.
In July 25th 1941, Gustavs Celminš offered Alfred Rosenberg to establish two divisions of the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" while in August 17th 1941, it was dissolved after the Germans authorities found out that the group was Anti-German so most of the members sent to concentration camps in Bavaria but some of its members still collaborate with Nazi Germany and Gustavs Celminš secretly lead a resistance movement against Nazi Germany even in 1943, he created the "Latvian Articles Free Latvia" as an illegal newspaper press.
The "Latvian Articles Free Latvia" was originally known as the "Message" that Gustavs Celminš with his type writer made 20 to 30 copies as he distributed them self-supply in his workplace by the Latvian self-government "Interior Directorate" while in understanding based the newspaper on the fact that many people had turned to him after the information so he decided to distribute it in a written way but then it was propagated in a large throw of about 700 copies that reached 16-18 pages and the printing of number A.Mature along with the printing of the 12th and 13th precedence - J.Sildegs to whom number 12 was known to be printed on the board of the "Würcava Parish of Jelgava".
The distribution of the "Latvian Articles Free Latvia" was changed in the future as the straw gave its visitors encrypted coupons that could receive a newspaper at its illegal distribution sites located in Riga while it is known that in some cases the newspaper is distributed by mail but in order to avoid suspicion in these cases the envelopes with a counterfeit seal of the "Labour Administration" were used and there was organized distribution of a newspaper in the province as people's inspectors were involved in the distribution of the expenditure in the province from Abren to Jacob.
From August to September 1943, according to eyewitnesses stated that individual numbers have been distributed in the Anneniek Parish from Dobel County to Jacobpil before but then in autumn of the same year the German authorities managed to track the "Latvian Articles Free Latvia" activities and they arrest some of the newspaper's distributors in the province.
In March 14th 1944, Gustavs Celminš was arrested by the "Gestapo" lead by Heinrich Müller to be sent into the Flossenbürg concentration camp but then Dachau and in May 5th 1945, he is set free by the "United States Army" (USA) that later carried out a massacre against the "Schutzstaffel" (SS) even after World War Two (1939-1945), he moved to Italy where he created another newspaper press called "Free Latvia".
In 1947, Gustavs Celminš published the autobiographic book called "At The Crossroads Of Europe" before in 1949, he moved to the United States of America where in 1950, he becomes an instructor at Syracuse University's Armed Forces School located in Onondaga, New York while in 1951, he was the director of the "Foreign Language Program" for the "United States Air Force (USAF)" but then he was a television lecturer about the Soviet Union along with Communism and in 1954, he moved to Mexico as a manufacturer.
In 1956, Gustavs Celminš moved back to the United States of America as a librarian at Trinity University located in San Antonio, Texas but then in 1959, he became a professor of Russian studies at St. Mary's University and in April 10th 1968, he died of natural causes.
Šiškinsism
Igors Šiškins was born in Rēzekne, Latvia, Soviet Union on June 9th 1959 while his Russian father along with his Latvian mother divorced but in 1975, he graduated from the Professional Builders Technical High School to worked his life as driver, locksmith and stonecutter until in the early 1990s, the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" have been revived by Jānis Rība whose stated goal was to overthrow the Liberal government for a new Latvia and then the "Rība's Defenders" has been formed as an unregistered splinter group from the self-proclaimed successor organization of the Pre-World War Two (1939-1945) "Aizsargi" even in 1995, three former members left this group to joined up with martial artist Juris Rečs to reconstitute the "Pērkonkrusts" in a proper way.
In June 5th 1997, the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" successfully the Soviet Victory Memorial located in Riga after they failed a bunch of times while two members lost their lives as the "Latvian State Police" have linked Igors Šiškins to the bombings because he is a member so in January 1998, President Guntis Ulmanis along with the "Constitutional Protection Office" began to arrest the members but in April 1998, Šiškins was arrested then most of their leaders and in 2001, the members were realized one year later even the "Pērkonkrusts" were banned in 2006.
In October 6th 2006, Igors Šiškins during the Latvian parliamentary elections tried to get elected into the Latvian government with a Lithuanian political party that is Liberal Conservative called the "Homeland Union — Lithuanian Christian Democrats" lead by Gabriel Landsberg while it only received 0.1% of the vote so he is not elected but then in March 16th 2006, he took part in an event called the Remembrance Day Of The Latvian Legionnaires to remember some Pērkonkrusts soldiers that died for the "Latvian Legion" for the "Waffen SS" and in 2007, Igors Šiškins founded the "Gustavs Celmiņš Centre" (GCC) as a successor to the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" to preserve the Dievturība religion.
In May 9th 2007, Igors Šiškins was arrested for wearing forbidden symbols in public while in July 1st 2010, he was arrested again with his buddy during a halted march commemorating the liberation of Riga from the Soviets since 1941 but then in 2012, he invited representatives from Far-Right groups in Ukraine, Russia, Germany and Poland to celebrate the Remembrance Day Of The Latvian Legionnaires and in 2013, he was arrested again but this time for attempting to purchase explosives so since December 2014, the "Pērkonkrusts/Thunder Cross" have been dissolved along with the website that is now fake news since 2016.
Latvian Nazism
Latvian Nazism is based on the thoughts of Latvian political figure Jānis Štelmahers.
He was born in Latvia, Russia on 1893 to a working family while during World War One (1914-1918) joined the "Russian Imperial Army" in which he returned to his homeland during the Latvian War of Independence (1918-1920) to study law even as a student of the "Talavia" student corporation and then he was one of the "Latvian National Youth Union" founders.
Jānis Štelmahers worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while served in the "Christian National Union" lead by Gustav Reinhard as publisher editor of the newspaper "Amberland" but also a member of the "Centre's Board" that the papers were published and after a failed start Riga council in the election made him to left the party.
In July 14th 1932, Jānis Štelmahers founded the "United Latvian National Socialist Party" (ALNSP) in which he sought to imitate Adolf Hitler of the "National Socialist German Workers Party" (NSDAP) with the Ministry of the Interior registered the part while 93 people have entered as members but in 1933, the political party closed and it was rebranded into the Latvian restoration movement called the "Blue Eagle".
In May 15th 1934, the "Blue Eagle" lead by Jānis Štelmahers was closed after the 1934 Latvian Coup D'état while in 1939, stayed abroad in Nazi Germany along with Fascist Italy but then in July 24th 1940, he tried to escape abroad but got arrested during the Soviet occupation of Latvia of 1940 and in 1941, he was shot in Soviet custody.
