Ottomanism is a politicial ideology originating from the 19th century Ottoman Empire based on the First Constiutional Era of the Ottoman Empire. It arose a political ideology that seeked to catch the Ottoman Empire back up with the rest of Europe and westernize the empire.

History

Ottomanism first developed as a concept in 1876. It arose as the ideology that helped kick start the First Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire (1876-1878).
