Russophilia denotes a feeling of admiration and fondness towards Russia, including its current government and political culture.
Russophilia is particularly common among the authoritarian left, who believe that Putin's anti-Western stance makes Russia a spiritual successor to the Soviet Union. This phenomenon is referred Red Putinism by the anti-Putin post-Soviet left. Russophilia is also somewhat widespread among European reactionaries, who see Putin's Russia as being less afraid to protect its culture and national interests.
