Democratism is the ideology of the Democratic Party, a left-wing liberal political party in the United States.

History

The Democratic Party traces its origins to the Democratic-Republican Party founded by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison in the 1790s. Initially, it was a party advocating for agrarian interests, states' rights, and limited federal government. Jacksonian Era: In the 1820s and 1830s, the party split into factions, with Andrew Jackson's supporters forming the modern Democratic Party.
