Peasants' Republicanism is the political system practiced by the Peasants' Republics what is now mostly north-western Germany, most prominently in Frisia.

The system was a reaction to Feudalism and a rejection thereof, instead placing the power in the hands of peasants. Sometimes a oligarchical system developed where a few families held power in the state and were the only ones allowed to vote (such as in Dithmarschen), other times the societies were more direct-democratic and communal in nature.
A constant however was that the peasants owned the land they worked and had to pay little or no taxes.
